Chess

Wednesdays & Fridays

Chess Instructor: A. Martinez

Chess is a highly precise and logical game that requires an ability to strategize and concentrate while expressing creativity. It’s fun and it allows socialization while challenging students to answer and work through their own. Chess has been played and enjoyed by people around the world for two thousand years.  One of our most popular extracurricular activities at Dr. Garza elementary is the ASP Chess Club which enables students to learn both basic rules and advanced strategies, play against peers, learn from chess experts and grandmasters, and socialize with other students who share their interests.

Here are some benefits of Chess:

Improves concentration and memory.
Enhances reading and math skills
Fosters logic, critical thinking, and creativity.
Encourages and rewards hard work.

Join the club!
